Doctor Consultations

The Practice operates a Telephone Consultation System

To arrange a callback from a doctor, please phone 028 90 865402.  Lines will close once all slots have been filled.

We appreciate the difficulties getting through to the surgery can be frustrating.  Please note, if all lines are busy, your call may appear to have been 'dropped'.  We have spoken with our phone provider and they are looking at possible solutions.  Please keep trying.

When all available appointments for the day are booked - we can only take genuinely URGENT calls - please do not use this line to request medication.

ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS

Important Information

Telephone Consultation operates in the surgery Monday to Friday from 9.00 am until all slots are filled.

All requests for a GP appointment will be sent directly to a Doctor who will phone you back on the same day.

Three Simple Steps:

  1. You Telephone the Surgery – 028 90 865402 from 9.00 am
  2. The Doctor calls you back
  3. You are always seen if needed

This will mean:

  • It should be easier to get through on the phone
  • Shorter waits to see the doctor
  • No wasted journeys to the surgery when you don’t need to come in

Our admin staff have been asked to not give appointments to people arriving at the front desk.  If you come into the surgery requesting an appointment, you will be asked to phone in.  This is so we are not disadvantaging people who cannot just drop in for reasons of disability, work or caring commitments.

Please understand that we are trying to ensure we an provide a safe service to as many people each day as possible but demand will always exceed capacity.

For any antenatal requests from 2 March 2023 - please contact the Community Midwives Office to make an appointment with the team on 028 90 552272

Please DO NOT request an Appointment by emailing the surgery - the emails are not monitored regularly and this could result in your request being missed.

WE OPERATE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY: PLEASE DO NOT CHALLENGE THE RECEPTION STAFF WHEN THEY CANNOT GIVE YOU AN APPOINTMENT - THEY ARE SIMPLY ACTING ON PRACTICE POLICY

IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY

In any emergency case, eg Chest Pain or a Suspected Stroke you should ring 999 immediately.

of action.

 CANCELLING APPOINTMENTS

IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND OR NEED TO CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT

We would appreciate that you let us know if you cannot attend or no longer require your appointment.

On average approximately 350 x 10 minute appointments are not attended each month.

It is frustrating for patients and also ourselves as these appointments could be used by someone who really needs to be seen by a doctor or nurse.

If you need to cancel an appointment you can do so by completing this online form, telephone 028 90 865402 or if you are registered for online services you have the option of cancelling your own appointment.
